I had the exact same problem and luckily caught it before shipping out a 300$ camera! He went by the name Scott Bill, used email address ; ScottBill00@gmail.com and tried getting me to send it to this address .

Thanks for posting this. He just messaged me for an item i have for sale on craigslist. He wanted to send me the money through paypal. Some people just dont have nothing better to do than play on computers all day and try to get free money. They need to get a real job

Thanks, this page helped a lot, I live in the UK, this guy emailed me as I was selling a TV and the email address he used was geozzyy@gmail.com which made me suspicious said he was a policeman on duty in Gloucester but didn't say which country!! Asked me to open a Paypal account, which I did but so far no money - but still insisting he wants the TV and wanted me to ship it. He even kept phoning me on my mobile - number withheld, when I asked his name he said Scot Bill and then quickly changed it to Bill Scot the name on the email. Needless to say this transaction is not going to materialise, so have politely, told him to get lost. Earlier this year I was selling a car and I am sure this same guy who was supposedly "on a ship on the sea" etc. etc. said he wanted to buy it, I googled the ship which was a US ship, it was in dry dock at the time. I put a stop to that by ignoring him. This guy is obviously a prolific scammer so beware!! Hope these comments help any future sellers to beware of Bill Scot or Scot Bill as he calls himself.
Update on my last post: Well: I strung this scammer along sending a copy of a "paid shipping bill" and also a made up tracking number to the bogus PayPal account. My last email to him was asking where my money was and that the TV was at the airport awaiting clearance. A phone call from him this morning laughing and saying that I had been scammed and that he would have the TV & I would not get the money! My reply was, well you've been scammed as the TV is still in my living room and had not been sent. So to cut a long story sort I scammed the scammer. People must be more aware of these scammers. I know there are people out there that take people at their word but everyone should be vigilant where money is involved. Do hope this helps.
He just tried to buy my daybed with the e-mail address cherryleon77@gmail.com, I told him it sold already and did not give away that I knew he was a scammer.
