I have an expensive ring listed as well and she just tried that scam on me. Emailed me exactly what is printed above, all the same questions. She also goes by Jennifer Lynn and uses the email address jmsgril@gmail.com. You send her the ring and you never see a dime. Was in a huge hurry to get my PayPal info.

Well I was one of the stupid ones they just took complete advantage of. Don't understand how this continues to happen using paypal info. Then tried to scam cash on top of everything else. Where are their security measures? Also using shpmjul@aol.com, Allphasecont1@gmail.com. I'm going after this bunch with all resources at my disposal. They just messed with the wrong person.

Had posted a ring on Craigs List (locally) and this person (Jessica) responded right away. I pretty much knew it was a scam by her questions (and way over the top interest in the item). How could someone from San Diego (or wherever the heck he/she is from) want to buy a high ticket item without seeing it first. So if something/someone sounds too good to be true, they ARE!! Thanks for the blog though, it was interesting!!

Replied asking for their PayPal ID as I didn't see anything in the ledger.
In the paypal spoof email he sent me the header shows:

Which essentially means it was relayed through google (74.125.82.x) from the account "allphaseconts1@gmail.com"
This person is still trying to scam others. BEWARE!!!!!!!!

Just got an email for a craigslist ad today. The name is now Cheryl Cheryl F on "his" email. I was alerted when reading it and the English grammar was messed up like the spam emails for winning millions of dollars. It reads like the above email. The little hairs stood up on the back of my neck.
I got an email from rprose80@gmail.com. I noticed one thing. As soon as you ask for a phone number they disappear. The same person keeps changing names and now has started trying to get around me asking for a valid phone number by A-Straight off asking me for my email address, B-Straight off asking me for my phone number before I can ask for his, C-Telling me to text him, D-him asking me to email him.

Now, what we need to do is pool resources. We have to group those who have the same scam artist name or email address. Then we need to pool the From info. of emails from the same scam artist. Then perhaps Craigslist can track which individual responded to all those particular items. Ie. The From identifier of the email from the scam artist bothering me listed above is d583e66d0c1637ef95613d317e7231b2@r. If everybody bothered by rprose80@gmail.com contributes his From info from their emails then Craigslist can see which individual responded to those items.
I just went thru the same scam this week. Email address was rprose80@gmail.com and emails were identical to the ones above. Thank goodness I asked paypal some questions and we decided it was definitely a scam. These people are unreal!
I'm so glad I googled this name! She almost got me for $2000 for an old engagement ring! Really pushed for my personal email and paypal info. Glad I was smart enough to google. I will be doing transactions only in person with cash from now on! Thank you for posting this and saving so many people from being scammed!

Can they do anything with my Paypal email address? I did send that to her, even though I was suspicious. When I got the fake PayPal email, I knew it was a scam and reported it to PayPal... But she did get my Paypal email.
I feel like such a sucker. I sent a $6500 ring to a Josh Focht in San Diego. The first thing I ever tried to sell on Craigslist and go thru pay pal. This happened to me on Monday (7/15/13) Man, I wish I would have checked in here first. To anonymous who wants us to pray for their integrity since they have none, thank you for rising above and being an example of how to live life. Okay, they have gotten smarter BEWARE! The paypal request for payment went to them and they forged an email that looked like it came from PayPal stating the following:
